Sliced cantaloupe

Sold
Jane it was your comment about liking cantaloupe that inspired me, thanks this was really fun.

I have always wished that painting would feel as comfortable to me as drawing with pencils, my preferred medium for 25 years.  As I near the completion of 100 daily paintings starting with this painting it felt like I was drawing with paint.

Tomato portrait

What can I say sometimes you just do things, it made me happy and it had a chain reaction bringing back a memory of my granddaughter helping me at the car wash, when I gave her the power wand not thinking about how hard it is to hold and point, three times it went out of control on her and it blasted me, I ended up completely soaked and doubled over laughing, the look on her face each time she shot me was priceless.

No kidding

That is a real tomato that grew a red nose, only the eyes were added by me, what a cutie.  Running off to a plein air paint out today this painting was very wet when photographed thus the glare in a few spots, will redo  asap.

Garden Butterfly

Sold
The inspiration for this painting came from the Daily Paintwork's insect challenge.  Venturing into my yard on the look out for some insects and discovering many in the vicinity of a large lavender patch.  Blue and browns together has always held an attraction to me.

Dreamy

Interested? visit www.darlenemowatt.com
This is not one of my usual daily paintings, today it was completed.  This is a representational design of some lily's in a more whimsical setting. This is an original oil painting with a variety of textures that did not come from brush strokes, hope you enjoy it.

Schaefer road field

The land near my home is mostly used for farming. The quiet beautiful fields always attract my attention.  This is one of my favorite subjects to paint.

Kitty 3

Sold
These kittens are so funny yesterday all five were climbing a flowering crab tree and trying to outdo each other.  Mom sat and watched them run up, cling to the bark, hang, dangle, fall or jump down, usually two or three at time as they took turns.  They play together then they get all pooped out and take a nap together.  I feel bad breaking up the family but it's time to find some homes for them.

Flowers on the table

Sold
This table is a cutting block in my kitchen near a door wall that leads to the patio. The light coming from outside really caught my attention as the flowers were being arranged into a vase.

Remember the tulips

These tulips bloom next to a tree in my yard. This is a raised field stone flower bed filled with soil otherwise they wouldn't grow because of the roots.

Big leaf

Sold

Previously these strawberries were painted from a still life and while that was set up some additional photographs were taken.  These strawberries are tiny compared to some recent one's that we ate, you just can't use everything for art although I try.
